As previously reported, Hustle & Flow star Terrence Howard has signed on to film a new Lee Daniels’ production, “Empire,” for Fox Network.

Starring alongside Howard in this family drama set in the world of a hip-hop empire, is “Person of Interest” actress Taraji P. Henson.

According to TV Guide, “(Taraji) will play Cookie Lyon, the ex-wife and former business partner of music superstar Lucious Lyon (Howard). The outrageous and over-the-top Cookie has spent 17 years in prison for dealing drugs — money she funneled directly to Lucious’ then-fledgling music empire. Now she’s been released early for good behavior and she wants what’s hers.”
