Chief Keef has not been named a person of interest in the shooting death of teen rapper/rival Lil JoJo, however it is widely reported that the slain teen sought to battle it out with Chief Keef in the recording studio. Speculation is that some of Lil JoJo’s lyrics were pointed directly at Chief Keef loyalists and that may have created the environment for murder.

50 Cent says that he told Interscope Records that Chief Keef should not be dropped from the label because of the violence that is happening in the young rapper’s neighborhood.

“Interscope was thinking about dropping him,” 50 Cent told Angie Martinez on Hot 97 radio. “You can’t drop him. That’s what hip-hop culture is. It’s an opportunity for you to make it from anywhere.”

50 Cent says he told Chief Keef to watch his back. ““I told him to be careful and be aware of people that are starting to become jealous of that energy.”
