‘American Idol’ recap: Charlotte, N.C., proves to be most talented city yet

The judges were awed by the plethora of talent that oozed from nearly each “American Idol” hopeful in the Queen City. Highlights of the night included: Jimmy Smith, 25, who sang for his idol Keith Urban; Brandy Hamilton, 25, whose sultry, soft vocals paid homage to the great Etta James; and Candice Glover, 22, who gave the judges the best audition yet. –ruthie hawkins
