Author, The Ten Year Date: Sex, Secrets, & Lies

Sherrance
Henderson wants to teach you a lesson. The subject isn’t hard. She just
wants you to look at life in a different way. Henderson’s new novel,
The Ten Year Date: Sex, Secrets & Lies, is the follow-up to her
debut novel, Sunshine Has Rain.

“[In] each of my books, I take
a piece of my life and I give it to readers. I teach them a lesson, but
I do it in a way that it’s not like I’m preaching,” says Henderson.

Henderson’s real-life experiences have changed the way she looks at
life. In July 1999, she was partially paralyzed when a doctor treating
her for back injuries injected the wrong medicine into her spinal
column. She was awarded $6 million. Prior to becoming an author, she
was a district sales manager for a pharmaceutical company.

“Before my spinal cord injury, I didn’t appreciate life. I was involved
in achievement, power and money,” Henderson shares. “When I was
paralyzed, I lost everything I had [and had] to go on welfare. The same
life that I had looked down on so much because I had everything going
well for me, now I was a person within that realm. I have an MBA, why
would I be on welfare? I lost my friends, the person I was dating, and
I had to learn how to live a whole new life.”

Henderson hopes to give aspiring writers a leg up through her publishing company, Imperious Publishing.
