“Post racial is getting beyond the outlines and anatomy of blackness or specific racial identities.”

Why he doesn’t agree with term …
“I don’t agree with the term ‘post racial’ because it means we deny the critical strains of consciousness that have positively contributed to us as a people. Post racist is a righteous overcoming of barriers and obstacles and impediments that have prevented us from flourishing.”


On why we should aim at becoming a post racist nation …
“It’s easier to be post racial than to be post racist. Post racial means we pretend that everything is all right for the moment. Post racist means we have to organize energy intellectually and spiritually toward a progressive democratic society.”
