Michael Vick's Shooting Case Closed; But Will the Philadelphia Eagles Still Cut Him?

Virginia police have decided to close the shooting case that involved embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick. Quanis Phillips, one of Vick’s co-defendants in his dog-fighting case, was shot after crashing Vick’s birthday party last month.

According to reports, Vick confronted Phillips and Vick left the club after the two had a brief exchange. Three minutes after Phillips was shot, Vick decided to leave the club.

Police and the NFL began investigating the incident and wanted to find out if Vick was involved in any way with the shooting. Vick told reporters that the party should never have happened and he blamed himself for bad judgement.

Although police have closed the case and the NFL’s investigation is likely over, the Philadelphia Eagles may still sever ties with Vick and sign former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith. Vick recently signed a $5.2 million deal with the Eagles and was set to play backup to the Eagles starter, Kevin Kolb.

If Vick is cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, will another team in the NFL sign him or will he be out of the league for good? –a.r.
