Waka Flocka Flame: 6 Who Shot at His Bus Get Off

Following a shooting incident in February when Waka Flocka Flame’s tour bus was shot at outside a North Carolina car stereo store, six men arrested in connection with the shooting are now off the hook after prosecutors dismissed the charges against the men.

According to mtv.com, the shooting, which occurred on Feb. 26 in Charlotte, N.C., while Waka was getting work done on his tour bus, was originally described by a spokesperson for Waka as a violent attempt to steal the rapper’s jewelry. The six men arrested for the shooting were charged with attempted armed robbery, conspiracy and discharging a weapon into occupied property.

However, prosecutors were forced to drop the charges after providing little evidence to mount a strong case against the defendants and none of the witnesses could identify who was responsible for the shooting. Prosecutors were also unable to provide any evidence of an attempted robbery.

“We didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute any of them,” District Attorney Andrew Murray said. “The defendants are still in custody. That’s why we need to dismiss the charges now. I’m not thrilled about having to dismiss these charges. Some of these guys have felony records.”

Waka’s unnamed brother was identified as the intended victim of the alleged offense, but there’s no evidence that anyone attempted to rob him or pulled out a gun until Waka’s brother felt threatened and pulled out a gun himself.

“Thinking that something was going to happen is no evidence that these crimes occurred,” prosecutors said

And although the defendants can’t be placed at the scene of the crime, they themselves explained to police, who believe they were involved in the shooting, that they didn’t go to the car stereo store to rob Waka or his brother. Instead, they claim they went there to “chill” and “holler at” the rapper and that if anyone in their group did fire a gun, it was only in response to shots fired from Waka’s camp.
