*UPDATE* 'Delusional' Black Man Refuses to Climb Down From 300-Foot Tower After Nearly a Week With No Food or WaterOklahoma authorities say a 25-year-old black man they are identifying only as “William,” has been hanging from the top of the local Clear Channel Communications tower for nearly a week without food or water.

Emergency personnel from the fire and police departments have made several attempts to coax the man off the 300-foot tower, trying to reach him with ladders, tempting him with food, water and cigarettes, and even threatening him with mace, but he has refused to come down.

Police have banned spectators from assembling, have restricted media coverage and are leaving minimal emergency personnel on the scene, hoping the lack of attention, along with fatigue, will bring William down of his own free will.

According to police, the man’s family says he has been delusional in the past.

Props to the police in this Oklahoma town for trying to protect and serve a mentally challenged black man. I can think of a few cities in America where this youngin’ might not have gotten such a patient response from the law.
