Serial Rapist Video Surfaces Targeting African American Sorority Delta Sigma Theta: UPDATE

A disturbing video has surfaced of the suspected serial rapist who’s targeting members of the sorority Delta Sigma Theta. Over the last 11 months, four women in the Dallas metropolitan region have been raped in their homes, and their attacker may have targeted them for being members of one of the nation’s most prominent African American sororities.

Media reports state the most recent attack took place last Friday in the suburb of Corinth, Texas. All of the victims, who were in their 50′s and 60′s, were assaulted between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. The attacker reportedly revealed personal details about each of the women during each assault, leading authorities to suspect they are looking for one attacker.

Two local alumni chapters in the Dallas area have had to turn over their rosters to authorities, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“While it is not yet confirmed that these victims were targeted because of their affiliation with the Sorority, we are erring on the side of caution and are advising our members in the Dallas area to take the necessary precautionary measures,” Cynthia Butler-McIntyre, the sorority’s national president, said in a statement. “To think that our members are being targeted is disturbing and extremely disheartening. Until the individual responsible for these crimes is brought to justice, we will continue to remain in close communication with one another and law enforcement officials in the respective jurisdictions.”

A video has been released by police officials of the suspected rapist believed to be connected to the attacks. The suspect is a heavy set black man in his late 30′s to mid 40′s, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall, and 275 and 300 pounds. He has a trimmed beard, a short haircut and possibly a receding hairline.
