One of the comedy world’s most successful stars, Bernie Mac worked his way up from being a supporting actor to a film star in ’90s and 2000s, landing roles in   Ocean’s Eleven, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Bad Santa as well as a feature spot in the comedic documentary, “The Original Kings of Comedy.” Bernie Mac also starred in his own successful sitcom, “The Bernie Mac Show.” The comedian died suddenly and tragically on Aug. 9, 2008, from sarcoidosis complicated by pneumonia.
