Charlie Ward
Charlie Ward was a standout athlete in football and basketball during his years at Florida State. He was a master of controlling the shotgun offense and compiled 27 touchdowns and 3,371 total yards in 1993 to capture the Heisman Trophy. However, NFL teams did not give Ward an opportunity. Some sports theorists believe that Ward’s race played a part in him not getting drafted. But Ward was drafted in the NBA by the New York Knicks. He had a solid 11-year career in the NBA.
