On March 2o we headed to Charleston, S.C., to check out the city’s five-day fashion week. You didn’t know that Charleston had a fashion week like New York City? We didn’t either, but we were so eager to go see what this Southern state had to offer.
Charleston Fashion Week was started in 2007 where they showcase emerging designers, over 30 runway shows, model competitions, interactive entertainment, pop-up shops and parties galore! With over 7,000 people in attendance, we had a great time checking out the shows, models, interviewing and taking photos of fashionable guests and seeing the latest fashions on the runway. On Tuesday night we saw emerging designers Mickasa La’Charles, Samantha Michele Hyman, Gil Tisdale & Dominique Verona, Tsvetelina Gerasimova McAuliffe and Adrienne Antonson. The featured designer for the evening was Emily Bargeron. Bargeron showed her men’s collection and we even saw Bravo’s “Make Me A Supermodel” season one cast member, Jay McGee, strut the runway. Designer Mycheal Knight, who was one of the judges for the event and who was showing his bridal collection later on in the week, was in the front row. Check out the photos below. www.charlestonmag.com
