Cheyenne Woods, the 21-year-old niece of a famed golfer Tiger Woods, is doing her part to carry on her family’s stellar sports legacy. On May 31, 2012, she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open during an event at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, N.C..

She makes her professional debut, with a sponsor’s exemption, during the Wegmans LPGA Championship, scheduled for June 4-10 at Locust Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

The competition will serve as a warm up for the U.S. Women’s Open, which will be held July 5-8 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis.

The golfer is the daughter of Tiger Woods’ half-brother Earl Woods Jr. Before turning pro, she played golf at Wake Forest University. In 2011, Cheyenne Woods won the ACC Championship as a junior at Wake Forest.

After the LGPA, Cheyenne Woods will join Brooke Pancake, UCLA’s Brianna Do and South Carolina’s Katie Burnett at the U.S. Women’s Open.
