Tameka Raymond Thinks Usher Custody Ruling Unfair, Plans Appeal

After several months of fighting, Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Raymond’s, bitter custody battle ended on Aug. 24, with shocking results, when Usher was awarded primary custody of their two sons, Usher Raymond V,4, and Naviyd, 3. While clearly still in dismay over the ruling, Tameka recently took to Twitter to vent about the surprising custody battle conclusion.

“Money can buy many things… But in the end. Truth & goodness will prevail. I must continue to believe this. Stand firm,” Tameka tweeted on Friday, after the ruling, implying that Usher’s celebrity power may have swayed the judge’s decision.

Tameka’s previous tweets echoed the same sentiment.

“A woman’s loyalty is tested when her man has nothing… A mans loyalty is tested when he has everything!” wrote Tameka. “Don’t fear the enemy that attacks you… Fear the fake friend that hugs you. There’s not much worse.”

However, Tameka’s thinly veiled tweets are only the tip of the iceberg in continued fight against Usher. According to TMZ, Tameka plans to appeal the custody ruling, saying it was unfair.

Sources say that Tameka recently learned that Usher’s lawyer’s law firm threw an election fundraiser back in 2008 for Judge Lane, who presided over the trial. Tameka believes that connection gave Usher an unfair advantage and influenced the judge’s decision to grant him custody.

According to a campaign contribution report for Lane, the law firm that represented Usher raised $1,278 for Lane in March 2008.

Tameka is apparently angered and confused by the decision, saying that Usher is too much of a workaholic to care for their kids and that she has a more stable schedule.

Well, it looks like this custody battle may not be over just yet. But Tameka and Usher aren’t alone. Check out some other stars with custody issues below. –nicholas robinson
