Rolling out and CVS/pharmacy hosted the 2012 Mirror Mirror Awards on Monday, Sept. 24 at Lux Lounge in Washington, D.C. The event celebrated the work of fashion, beauty and community trendsetters from the local community. The honorees illuminated the stage while fans and supporters cheered them on.
“Tonight’s honorees are a shining example of the best D.C. has to offer, “ said Kiera Lytle of rolling out. “Their work as not only trendsetters and icons, but as community activists and advocates is to be commended and it is a privilege for Rolling Out to honor such outstanding individuals.”
The 2012 Mirror Mirror Awards honorees are: Rashida Jolley, music artist; Barry Fletcher, Barry Fletcher Products; Cynné Simpson, ABC 7 News anchor; Deidre Jefferies, celebrity fashion stylist; Diane Cole Stevens, Cole Stevens Salons; Jeannie Jones, on-air personality, WPGC; Aisha Davis, founder, U.G.L.Y. Girl Cosmetics; Glynn Jackson CEO, Glynn Jackson the Agency and founder, Golden Scissors Awards; Cortney Hicks, on-air personality, Radio One; Aba Kwawu, The Aba Agency; and Alfredas, radio personality, “Russ Parr Show.”
Recipient Diane Cole Stevens said about her award, “I first want to applaud rolling out for its commitment to being community focused. Getting this word out through the beauty industry is spectacular. ”
