The best and worst performances of the 2012 Soul Train Awards

Raphael Saadiq, Anthony Hamilton, Fantasia, Leah LaBelle

The awards show started out with a soulful moment from Raphael Saadiq, Anthony Hamilton, Fantasia and Leah LaBelle as they paid tribute to some of soul music’s greatest legends, like Johnny Taylor and Bill Withers. But it was Leah LaBelle and Fantasia who stole the show, as Leah performed a rousing rendition of Teena Marie’s “Square Biz” and Fantasia brought it all home and then brought down the house with a powerful rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Don’t Play That Song for Me.”
