Achane’s lawyer states that Bland did not have a right to put the child up for adoption without the birth father’s knowledge, and now a judge gave the Freis 60 days to return Leah.
The Freis, who have four biological children and another adopted child, has planned to appeal the ruling. The family’s attorney, Larry Jenkins, says that the Freis has reared Leah since her birth.
