Sexy, sassy and socially-aware, hip hop’s first (and really only) superstar girl group were all over radio in the 90s. From anthems like “Let’s Talk About Sex,” and the uber-hit “Whatta Man,” to calls for women to assert themselves with “Expression,” and playful come-ons like “Shoop;” for a generation of young women, Salt, Pep and Spinderella defined what it meant to be a B-girl with brains and backbone.
