Girlfriends trip 2013: Homeless, hassled and happy at the presidential inauguration

Girlfriends having a ball in D.C.

Here, blogger Reporter Mom shares her story about a trip to Washington, D.C. with girlfriends (and husbands) and teenage daughter for the 57 Presidential Inauguration. Traveling from Dallas, Tex. she and her crew truly had an adventure, between finding out that they didn’t have a place to stay when they got there (homeless and hassled), to an amazing time had attending unlikely balls and events seeing old, making new friends and rubbing elbows with celebrities (happy). And so it begins…

Don’t try to figure it out. I’ll explain!

Big trip. Wonderful experience. Especially for our eighth grader.

My husband, daughter and I traveled with friends from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to Washington D.C. for the 57th U.S. presidential inauguration.

And now—Uhh…the back-story.

If the push for gun control is Rascism, then what do you call the Black community’s Powerlessness to stop the killing off of Black students in urban USA? Is that rascism too? I’d call that POWERLESSNESS! Let that word roll off the tongue.
