Children pose as black history icons (photos)

Kids pose as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Rosa Parks

A Maryland photographer is generating buzz today for a series of photos that feature children portraying key figures in black history. Eunique Jones Gibson has released a photo series titled “Because Of Them We Can” that featured a photo a day on social media of 28 children emulating the likes of Rosa Parks, Harriett Tubman, and Run DMC.

“As a motivational speaker and a photographer, I recently realized that my lens can also be my microphone,” said Gibson about the project.

Gibson previously made headlines when she launched a local awareness campaign tied to the death of Trayvon Martin. The pictures can be purchased on the “Because Of Them We Can” section of Gibson’s website.

I don’t know who the editor is but he has wasn’t thinking when this was posted. This does not belong in the entertainment section. What is entertaining about this unless you think like the perpetuators of this crime?

The only thing sadder than this story is that it’ll NEVER be reported on by the “Mainstream” media or get the national attention it deserves. Unless it’s some crazy loner shooting up a school or a little white kid gone missing the media has no interest.
