Yesterday, the nine justices of the U.S. Supreme Court began hearing arguments about the constitutionality of California’s Proposition 8, a 2008 constitutional amendment that defined marriage in the state as being only between one man and one woman and made same-sex marriage illegal. Though the panel, like society at large, seemed to be divided on the matter, several celebrities came out in support of striking down Prop 8 and legalizing same-sex marriage.
