Marvin Gaye (April 2, 1939 – April 1, 1984)
For the past few decades we have been enriched by the wonderful music Marvin Gaye produced throughout his musical career. I think every April 3 we should have an official Marvin Gaye Style Day.
Not only was he immensely talented, and God-blessed handsomely beautiful, but he could dress.
His flair for style set trends for whole generations. I remember my dad rocking the look up top many a day as he sang, “How sweet it is to be loved by you.” My first real introduction to everything fly and fresh. It is only now that I can appreciate the fashion value my dad, by being inspired by Marvin Gaye, was trying to teach me.
Mr. Gaye, you are missed, your fashion sense invaluable. Thank you.
