3 roommates of Boston Marathon bombing suspect arrested

Three more people have been arrested in connection with April’s Boston marathon bombing. The Boston police department made the announcement  via a tweet that simply read, “Three additional suspects taken into custody in Marathon bombing case. Details to follow.”

The news comes after the BostonPD confirmed that they’re interested in speaking with nearly a dozen persons of interest.

Sources tell NBC that the trio in custody are actually the college roommates of accused bomber Dzokhar Tsarnaev who are suspected of removing items from his dorm at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

They are not believed to have had prior knowledge of the bombing. Their names have yet to be released.

Police would like to stress that the public is not in any imminent danger. “Please be advised that there is no threat to public safety,” the Boston Police department said in a statement.
