Treach claims Vin Rock sucker punched him

Naughty By Nature visit fuse Studios

Beef in the hip-hop community tends to be reserved for the younger stars of the genre but clearly that wasn’t the case last week when iconic hip-hop group, Naughty By Nature erupted in flames after Treach blasted group mate Vin Rock and claimed that he was fired from the group. Since then, questions have swirled about what caused the sudden rift and Treach has now revealed that their friendship was broken after a board room fight.

In a recent interview with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” Treach revealed that he and Vin haven’t been on speaking terms for years since Vin Rock allegedly sucker punched him in a meeting.

“Once hands was put on somebody in a meeting and you’re talking business, that’s sucker-punching. That don’t go,” Treach explained, talking about the punch. “I ain’t spoke to the homie since.”

“Its business,” he continued. “Grown man business. We on some different stuff now. Now, once you decide you want to get physical, now I’ma to show you my power on a different level and still keep the goons off you so I hope you don’t want to make another record and make it hard for some ghostwriter.”

Treach went on to explain that Vin Rock “ran away” after throwing the punch and that “someone saved him at the time.” “I’m glad they did,” he added.

The final member of Naughty By Nature, Kay Gee, who once beefed with Treach, was also present during the interview and although he initially claimed that he was siding with Treach, he later clarified that he isn’t taking any sides.

“I’m not taking no sides. I’m not taking nothing, but I don’t have no problem with Treach. You can’t pull me over here and try to tell me to go against Treach,” say Kay, adding that he hopes the two squash their beef, although they will tour regardless. “I don’t agree with it. I think it’s cool to clear the air, get it over with and just stop it. I think what’s going on now is that we got the shows and I just want to clarify and let everybody know that the shows that is on the table is gonna happen.”

Apparently, business is business, even when you’re feuding. But this isn’t the first time former hip-hop BFFs have feuded. Check out some other major splits below. – nicholas robinson
