Fan says she contracted herpes at a Rihanna concert
A Rihanna fan alleges that she got a souvenir that will last a lifetime after attending a concert and sampling the singer’s lipstick. Starkeema Greenridge, 27, of New Yrok says she tried a sample of Rihanna’s RiRi Woo lipstick during her May 7 show at Barclays Center. Greenridge now believes the cosmetic was used by other patrons and not properly cleaned.
“I asked [the M.A.C. employee] if it was clean and he said, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah,’” she told the New York Post. “Two days later, my upper lip was swollen with blisters.”
A doctor later confirmed that Greenridge contracted herpes. She is suing M.A.C. Cosmetics Inc. the makers or RiRi Woo, for unspecified damages.
Rihanna is not named in the lawsuit.
Rihanna’s limited edition lipstick was released May 2. The fire engine red shade is widely popular and a take on the cosmetic company’s Ruby Woo lipstick which is equally just as popular.
News of a fan contracting herpes at a Rihanna concert is ironic considering that a nasty rumor has been floating across cyberspace that the pop star is infected with the virus. Like Rih, other stars including Ann Heche and Britney Spears are also rumored to be carriers.
