Big Break: Winning “The Event!” The Event Awards show is broadcast live from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Fla.

How did you hear about the competition?

The Event had a casting call in Houston and out of 500 auditions they selected me and 34 others to compete in the nationwide talent contest in Orlando Florida. At the Florida competition each first-round winner had to audition in front of 60 to 150 agents, managers, and talent scouts to entire into the next round. I placed in the top 10 acting category for the six to 10 age group.

How did you react to placing in the top 10 and what did you win?

I was really excited to be in the top 10 because all of the celebrity hosts in Orlando have shows on the Disney channel. Carlon Jeffrey is one of my favorite Disney actors and I was so happy when I got to meet him in person. After meeting the celebrity hosts, each winner from the different age groups received an award, a share of the $50,000 combined cash and prizes, and a callback appointment from the talent scouts and their companies.

How many companies did you get a callback from after winning the competition?

I earned eight call backs based on my look and talent from Pinkerton Model & Talent, Global Management 101, Babes N Beaus, Model Club Inc., Calli Company, Marsha Doll Models, New Beginnings Entertainment and TalentInk LA.

Has winning the competition helped you get closer to your dream of superstardom?

I’ve always wanted to be on TV, and after winning the competition I got a chance to be in two national commercials and two short films, so it has helped me get a little closer to my dream. I really want to land a major role in a major film this year, so I have been going on a lot of auditions. Right now I’m waiting for an audition callback from the new Transformers movie.
