A Long Island, N.Y., father is facing felony drug and child endangerment charges in Suffolk County after law enforcement busted him for selling heroin while holding his 8-month-old daughter in Central Islip.

According to Det. Lt. James Rooney, Tyreek Langs, 23, was apprehended with five bags of heroin, worth about $500, when he and his daughter were brought into custody by undercover police officers.

”Bizarre situation that someone would go to those lengths with complete disregard for a child,” said Det. Lt. James Rooney. ”Anything can happen in a drug deal.”

The mother was reportedly at work at the time of the drug deal.

CBS News says a friend of Langs’ actually called him a great father.

“He loves his daughter to death, does everything for her,” he said. “He’s always with his daughter.”

If that statement is legitimate, then it will be very tough on Langs. A Suffolk judge has ordered Langs to stay away from his daughter.

”He would rather be dead, I think, than not to be able to see his daughter,” Langs’ friend explained to CBS News.
