Food network star Ted Allen gets engaged to boyfriend after DOMA and Prop 8 fall

Ted Allen & Barry Rice

It’s definitely been a monumental week for the LGBT community as SCOTUS recently made the historic decision to strike down both DOMA and Prop 8, which denied marriage rights and equality to gay couples. Although several celebrities and politicians have been celebrating through tweets about the landmark decision, Ted Allen, the host of Food Network’s hit show “Chopped,” celebrated by announcing that he and his longtime partner are now engaged.

Allen has been affectionately referring to Rice as his husband since he first hit it big 10 years ago as the “food and wine connoisseur” on “Queer Eye for Straight Guy.” After revealing the big news to his fans, Allen began field congratulations and responding to the countless well-wishes.

We conrgatulate Allen and Rice on their engagement and we wish them the best on their upcoming wedding. Hopefully, it will be just as great and memorable as the other gay celebrity weddings listed below. – nicholas robinson

the Word speaks of all this; so not surprised. just sitting back watching everthing fall in line to what is written in The Biblle. Enjoy it now, because in the end you won’t. Laugh and celebrate now, because in the end, you won’t be celebrating. Your joy will only be fleeting for you will receive recompense from God for this abomination. You refuse to follow him and what he commands. You turn your face from him and laugh at his commands; therefore he has turned his face from those of you who partake of this abomination and those of you who support it. America will reap from what it has sown.
