Beyoncé’s fans weren’t the only ones shocked to see the singer’s new pixie cut on Instagram, so was her longtime hairstylist Kim Kimble. She tells People magazine that she’s “excited” and “Maybe I’ll cut my hair off now. Short hair, don’t care!”

The star of We TV’s L.A. Hair and owner of own hair salon, Kimble Hair Studio in Los Angeles, says she was not only shocked but also emotional because Beyoncé had “thick long” tresses. “I got a little teary eyed! I’ve been working for her so long, she has this beautiful long hair and it’s hard to grow hair out,” she told the magazine.

Stop telling that lie that it’s hard to grow your hair out! Black people’s hair grows at the same rate as any other race, WITH THE PROPER CARE. She’s a hair dresser and should know this. She’s probably not versed in natural hair care and only knows “creamy crack”. There are a plethora of ways to care for and nurture black hair so that it grows full and beautiful.
