March on Washington 2013 guide


This week marks the 50th Anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington and Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. From workshops to freedom festivals, the week will commemorate Dr. King’s legacy with events led by the SCLC and the Rainbow Push Coalition, as well as, The King Center. The weeklong celebration will end with the “Let Freedom Ring” commemorative/call to action closing ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial with speakers Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama.
