5 athletes who own franchises


Athletes are resorting to purchasing franchises of already well-known brands. Franchises come pre-packaged with two of the most important keys to success already built in: a widely known brand name and pre-determined price lists. Check out five athletes who own franchises. Joi Pearson @joiapearson

Above, pro basketball player Jared Jeffries signed his first franchise agreement in July. The former New York Knick, now number 4 in charge  for the Denver Nuggets franchise, along with business partner Shawn Strader, a Hampton University graduate, agreed to open 2  ZIPS Dry Cleaners in northern Virginia by the end of 2013.

“Owning a franchise was the next logical step for me and Shawn, and ZIPS provided a safe and promising way to ease into the industry,” Jeffries said in a July press release.
