On Sept. 29, 2013, Alexan Lien, 32, was riding down a Manhattan Highway with his family when he found himself surrounded by a number of bikers cruising down New York’s Westside Highway. Along with his wife, Roslyn Ng, and two-year-old, he claims he feared for his life. Motorcyclists chased Lien’s black Range Rover, bashed in his windows with their helmets, pulled him out of the car, and beat him. He required stitches.
Caught on video biker Christopher Cruz, 28, a father of two and car wash worker, is charged with reckless endangerment and unlawful imprisonment for slowing his motorcycle in front off Lien’s black Range Rover. Cruz crosses into the middle lane, looking back over both shoulders and then slowing down, resulting in the collision with Lien’s SUV. Dubbed as the man who started it all, he faces one year in prison.
Critically injured Edwin Mieses Jr., 32, was run over by Lien. He broke both legs and suffered a spine injury that his family said will leave him paralyzed. Famed attorney Gloria Allred is representing him. His wifey Dayana Mejia’s is devastated and affirms he’s a great father to their two children.
Craig Wright, 29, has been charged with gang assault, assault and unlawful imprisonment. Police say they have reason to believe he was the biker seen attacking the driver near the West Side Highway.
Robert Sims, 35, has been charged with gang assault, weapons possession and other offenses.
Arrested 21 times for other offenses, Reginald “Double Bird Flipper” Chance, 38, can add assault and gang assault charges to his rap sheet for his participation in the confrontation with Lien.
Undercover NYPD cop, Detective Wojciech Braszczok is charged with gang assault in the first degree, assault in the first degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. He reportedly smashed the rear window of the SUV.
