Tea Party setbacks and the advancement of Obamacare:  The sustainability of the radical right/conservative movement that exploded onto the scene four years ago was called into question in this year’s marquee contests. The Republican whom Tea Party members hate, Chris Christie, swept to a landslide re-election as governor in New Jersey by 60 percent of the vote. It is a case study in how more moderate Republicans can carry even Democratic-leaning states. Also, Tea Party darling Ken Cuccinelli lost his bid to become the 77th governor of the commonwealth of Virginia when he was defeated in a much closer race to Democrat Terry McAuliffe, a contest establishment Republicans thought they could have won with a more mainstream candidate. The victory by McAuliffe helps with President Obama’s promotion and advancement of the controversial “Obamacare” which has stumbled out of the gate with embarrassing internet technology screw-ups.
