All season long on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi Burruss’ mother, Mama Joyce, has been incessantly bashing Burruss’ fiancé, Todd Tucker, much to the chagrin of fans. Viewers of the show have been begging the songstress to check her mother about her incendiary comments and Burruss has even been getting criticism and shade form fans who say she’s too soft on her mom. But in her recent Bravo TV blog post, Burruss explains that she’s no coward or punk; she’s just not the kind of woman to disrespect her mother.

In the post, Burruss addresses Sunday night’s episode, in which Mama Joyce claimed that tucker has cheating on Burruss with her best friend, Carmon, and that he’s an opportunist that’s just using her to live in the lap of luxury.

“I’ve told her a million times that I’m not getting married without a pre-nup. Todd and I already agreed that we were doing one, but I don’t know why she feels like she has to be the one he negotiates it with. Todd did his best to not be disrespectful to my mom no matter what she said to him, which I’m thankful for, but he is more than a little tired of the drama though …” she wrote.

But what Burruss is getting tired of is the criticism from fans who say she needs to be more stern and aggressive in standing up to her mother. However, Burruss says that being disrespectful to her mom just isn’t an option.

“Everyone says stand up to your mama and blah, blah, blah, but believe it or not I do speak my mind to my mother. I just don’t say it in some crazy disrespectful way, because she is my mother. So to everyone who is screaming at me through the TV screen to “do something about my mom,” I’m not sure exactly what you expect me to do. I can only say how I feel, and if she doesn’t listen to me, then what?” she questioned.

Despite the advice of both Carmon and her fans to cut her mom out of her life, Burruss explains that she’s trying to bring peace and order to her family without having to abandon anyone.

“I don’t agree with my friend Carmon on how she said she would handle it if it were her mom. I don’t believe in cutting off your relationship with your mom. So for now I’m just hoping that over time things will work out for the best,” said Burruss.

Well, considering the fact that the preview for the upcoming episode shows Mama Joyce trying to fight Carmon at Burruss’ dress fitting, we assume that things don’t turn out so well. In fact, they seem to be going horribly wrong. – nicholas robinson
