You know it had to burn Bush’s ears to hear Mandela very vocal criticism of Bush’s rationalization of the war in Iraq. That aside, Mandela wasn’t taken off the U.S. Terrorist Watch List until the end of President George W. Bush’s term in 2008.


Why did it take so long? Just as interesting is this: why didn’t President Clinton take Mandela off the list in the 1990s, especially after Mandela was freed, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and elected president of South Africa?
