As an evolving talent and businesswoman, Moonbaby puts music’s light and energy into everything she does. DJ Moonbaby’s finger is always on the pulse of sounds that nourish and inspire the soul. Stay tuned!

Here are DJ Moonbaby’s five picks:

1. Choklate feat. Musiq Soulchild – “The Stand PT. 1”

Off the Seattle soultress’s new EP Fly. If you haven’t heard … now’s the time. Choklate and Musiq Soulchild vibed in the studio and the rest is history. This duet is solid and true to the R&B crooning that we miss so much and appreciate. R&B music is alive and well!

2. Robert Glasper Experiment feat. Emeli Sande’ – “Somebody Else”

My favorite track on the Black Radio 2 album.. Robert is bringing good music back to the forefront through jazz and true musicianship. I wasn’t a fan of Emeli Sande’ initially doing the UK Pop music, but Robert brought her SOUL into the music and all I can say is Emeli.. give us more [smiles].

3. Snarky Puppy feat. Lalah Hathaway – “Something”

This album landed on my desk a few months ago and I did a listening session on my show “UnRestricted.” Once again live music is undeniable and this track off the album is now nominated for Best R&B Performance for the 56th Grammy Awards. [It’s] a new take on a #classic Lalah song. Donnie Hathaway’s spirit lives on!

4. Marvin Gaye – “Far Cry”

From the In Our Lifetime? (Expanded Love Man Edition) album. I couldn’t do this list without referencing a Marvin song. This has to be hands down one of my fave Marvin songs. I can’t express the feeling that I get when I hear his music. His soul was on wax and true magic was made in his short time here on earth. He has left us a body of work like no other. Definitely one of his funkiest albums. I actually have Zeola Gaye (Marvin’s sister) scheduled to appear on “UnRestricted” in January. Tune in!

5. Quadron feat. Kendrick Lamar – “Better Off”

This Danish duo/group I discovered a few years back and they also have a tremendous amount of soul. Coco O’s voice is butter. The production is on point by Quadron’s other half, Robin Hannibal. They got the big “record” deal through Sylvia Rhone’s new label Vested In Culture where they have managed to create music [that is] still true to their initial sound. It’s a bit off beat for most and definitely not mainstream, which is why I love it even more. Check out their two albums … if you dare to step outside your comfort zone …

Catch DJ Moonbaby’s show, UnRestricted every Thursday from 8-10 p.m. PST on www.acceleratedradio.net/. Feel free to friend her on Facebook or follow her on Twitter.
