Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers reportedly outed as gay

Little by little, the NFL is inching its way towards seeing an active player come out of the closet. Just last week football fans were surprised to learn from former Houston Oilers players that at least two of their teammates were gay.  Now, another shocker has hit the web as a report claims that Green Bay Packers player Aaron Rodgers has been outed as gay.

According to The Fame Driven, an anonymous “spy” pointed out to the site several now-deleted tweets from Rodgers’ former “personal assistant,” Kevin Lanflisi, who lived in his home as “a roommate” for several years.

Aaron Rodgers & Kevin - Tweet

“Aaron has attended numerous sports award shows with Kevin, always color coordinated and without any double female dates, including the ESPY’s. Kevin was also the first person Aaron embraced when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2011. I just find it really strange that as of late there have been many bitter subliminal tweets on Kevin Lanflisi’s twitter alluding to a relationship much deeper than a friendship he had with who I perceive to be Aaron Rodgers; because Kevin has NEVER once tweeted about having a girlfriend, just mainly about the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers and Justin Bieber’s music and sitting front row at Bieber’s concert. There has been speculation for years here in Wisconsin that Aaron is gay,” said the spy.

Rodgers and Lanflisi were reportedly inseparable for years and Lanflisi even tweeted photos of himself wearing Rodgers’ Super Bowl ring. However, their friendship or relationship apparently went down hill in recent months and in early December Lanflisi was seen tweeting about living with a new roommate and learning to live as single man again.

Kevin Lanflisi - Breakup Tweet

A source claims that Rodgers and Lanflisi’s falling out occurred because Rodgers, who has previously been rumored to be gay, was allegedly supposed to be one of the group of NFL players who was supposed to come out this summer. However, Rodgers allegedly backed out at the last minute, which upset Lanflisi.

There’s been no confirmation on the story yet, but if it is true, this, unfortunately, wouldn’t be the first time an athlete was ripped from the closet in the press. Check out some other players who are arguably out in front of the world. – nicholas robinson

He was supposed to come out this summer? With another NFL player? So there’s folks somewhere deciding who and when gay NFL players should come out for maximum effect? Seems kind of insincere. If you are gonna do it, just do it. You don’t need a parade, or a “come out” partner.

Ohh but they do. Its what the LGBT is all about. Feeling important and special. They don’t understand people are beginning to hate them. Not because of their sexuality but because the circus that comes with it. Shut your mouths, pay your taxes and die like the rest of us.

“I’ve got a roommate, a guy I met in town. He works for the Packers now as an athletic trainer, but he was interning when I met him and we just hit it off. He’s been great for me as far as great conversations outside of football.
*Our friendship goes a lot deeper than what we do.”

how does Rogers say something like this and deny he’s been in a relationship with Kevin?

half of the NFL already just assumed anyway

THE BOYS LIVED TOGETHER FOR 4 YEARS

I don’t care a bit if he is but why hide it?

“THE BOYS LIVED TOGETHER FOR 4 YEARS”
Hey, backup NFL QBs (even 1st rounders with million+ dollar signing bonus) need to scratch and save all dollars possible. So, having a roommate mates total sense to me. Just wonder if they split the bills down the middle or if one of the two paid a bigger portion of those bills. Good lesson to young ones. Get a roomate and save. better yet. Get a roommate and stay away from women cause they are real expensive and will want jewelry (especially big rings).

Yeaaaaah, keep telling yourself that. I for one, believe it as do most people outside of homophobic WI. Actually, this makes me feel bad for the guy who clearly is struggling with coming out due to these attitudes.

I don’t understand your comment. what do you mean you “believe it”? Is that a BeliBieber thing? BTW did you see the pick of AR SB ring on Kev’s finger?

He has now addressed this issue, saying he isn’t. This again makes me ask why he even bothered? It’s not like it was THE big news. It’s just weird…the entire thing is.

The question isn’t whether he’s gay. The question is why did he bother to address something so frivolous?

    • JD on December 31, 2013 at 8:43 pm

Someone on a radio show was asking him about rumors about him and brought up the gay rumor specifically. He didn’t bring it up himself.

      • OddlyEven on December 31, 2013 at 11:15 pm

He shouldn’t have even addressed it. Who cares who asked him? That’s not the point. In addressing it, he’s kept the story going. Sorry you missed the point.

      • Jeff Smothers on January 5, 2014 at 6:22 pm

actually, the person on the radio mentioned that it is difficult being in the spotlight (quite meanly and cowardly not directly mentioning the rumor but really really alluding to it) and AR brought it front and center.

    • Truth on January 2, 2014 at 6:02 am

No HE DID bring it up himself. No-one asked him. It was weird.

Rumors and gossip, this is some bullsh*t! You f*gs are always trying to get attention to your pathetic cause for total acceptance…even at the cost of other peoples lives. NO ONE is this world is totally accepted by everyone. Stop persecuting those with differing opinions about your lifestyleandperhaps the persecution of y’all by intolerant–and many times ignorant–folks will cease. But, dont throw irresponsible unsubstantiated bullsh*t out on dudes , just because.

The problem is none of you guys can believe this is what it is. You refuse to believe your beloved sports heroes and guys you root for like men. Big whoopty. Truth is there are SEVERAL, SEVERAL NFL and MLB players who really are bisexual. And of course there are others who JUST ARE gay but they have to make the occasional appearance with some hot chick so you guys will stay off their back You know, their teammate know. They’re on the road, they share hotel wings with them but they just don’t say anything because they are cool with their teammate and they know it’s just not any of their business and to talk about would just bring their bud some grief. It’s pathetic that these guys who are so talented, so gifted and all-around great guys feel like they have to not be happy and live their lives freely because the judgment of a bunch of PRICKS out there. Well TS…it will just continue to reveal itself for what it is.

    • Truth on January 2, 2014 at 6:05 am

Their is no such thing as bi. You suck dick youre a gay man with a woman fetish. There is no bi.

      • hdtex on January 5, 2014 at 9:51 am

That’ exactly what your husband told me after he blew me….

      • jesusandthepirates on March 13, 2017 at 1:51 pm

Really? Why aren’t you a straight man with a man fetish?

    • Jeff Smothers on January 5, 2014 at 6:25 pm

@nnoneye are bisexuals gay? (y/n) follow-up question: are bisexuals straight? (y/n) Logic: AR stated he is not gay. Does such statement preclude AR from being bisexual?

Of course, it doesnt really matter his orientation as long as he is happy. Sucks for him that his parents have strong believes about his orientation.

Somebody’s got to love both men and women in football.
