Radio personality Jazzie Belle expanding her horizons

Jazzie Belle is enjoying the ride. The buxom beauty who first came into the public eye as a model in hip-hop mags and videos has parlayed her talents into a career as a media personality; both as a part of DJ Kay Slay‘s radio show on Shade 45 and New York City’s Hot 97 and as the star and producer of her own show, “Jazzie Belle TV.” She’s a businesswoman and a hard worker — and that work ethic is paying dividends.

“The harder you grind, the brighter you’ll shine,” she explains. “Don’t cut corners because you will get cut short in the end. but most importantly, gain as much knowledge as you can in your career choice, you can never have enough knowledge.”

She made her name as a model, and Jazzie admits that her career taking sexy pics has sometimes complicated her romantic life. “It’s very hard,” she reveals. “Trust is everything to me and in life it’s hard enough to find someone who is genuine — but it’s even harder to gain trust once they know who you are. So I choose to not bother with the dating scene. I’m a beautiful person inside and out and I keep an optimistic outlook on life so I trust the right situation will come to me when God says it’s ready.

“The biggest misconception is that I’m an ‘a– model,'” Jazzie says. “I don’t own that title and I never will. Instead I’m a businesswoman and I feel with owning my own production company and making a lot of power moves [that]  gives me the right to be respected as such.”

And she’s making sure she demands the respect. With so many facets of her career and so much experience under her belt, Jazzie is happy with where she is professionally and relishes how far she’s come.

“I’m able to show my personality and express myself more [now],” she explains. “Versus earlier on in my career, being an urban model, I was limited to taking sexy pictures and that was it. With being an on-air personality on both TV and radio, I’m able to show the true side of me and I’m very opinionated; so to be a woman and have a voice to the streets is super dope.”
