Supreme athleticism and record-breaking feats seem to be a hereditary trait in the Randy Moss household — even with the children, he doesn’t really acknowledge nor have a relationship.

Sydney Moss, daughter of future NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss, set the NCAA Division III record for single-game scoring with 63 points for Thomas More College on Friday night in a semifinal win in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference tournament.

Moss broke Ann Gilbert’s mark of 61 points when she made two free throws with 18 seconds remaining in the Saints’ 106-88 win over Waynesburg (Pa.) University in Crestview Hills, Ky. Thomas More improved to 27-0 and advanced to Saturday’s championship game against Washington & Jefferson College.

Moss, a 5-foot-11 sophomore guard, is a former Kentucky prep basketball star, and averaged 22.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in her junior year at Boone County High School.

Moss was playing for the Florida Gators but then transferred to the school in Crestview Hills, Ky., a suburb southwest of Cincinnati. Sydney and Randy Moss have had very little interaction during her life, according to multiple media reports.

Moss surpassed the 23-year-old mark set by Gilbert for Oberlin College against Allegheny College on Feb. 6, 1991. Just in case you were curious, a woman named Cindy Brown holds the Division I record with 60 points for Long Beach State against San Jose State on Feb. 16, 1987.

Randy Moss was an All-Pro wide receiver with the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots during an NFL career that lasted from 1998 to 2012. He is widely considered the most athletically gifted, albeit temperamental, wide receiver of all time. He set the record for touchdown receptions in a single season with 23 as a receiver for the Patriots in 2007. He still holds the record for most TD catches by a rookie with 17, which was set in 1998 with the Vikings.
