Spirit spotlight: VINIQ Shimmery Liqueur hits ATL

Five plus years in the making, VINIQ Shimmery Liqueur was well worth the wait. This unique blend of premium vodka, moscato and fruity flavors is as pleasing on the eyes as it is on the palate.

So, you’re wondering, how does it shimmer? Just shake it, sit it down or hold it in your hand and be amazed. The not-so-secret ingredient to making this magic happen is the material. Jason Wiedemann, marketing manager at E&J Gallo Winery, shared, “We started investigating ways to add spice to cocktails to make it more breakthrough, noticeable and exciting for consumers. We eventually landed on this shimmer… The material and mineral itself is similar to the material you see in wedding icing or jelly beans… It looks very mysterious in the bottle.”

I sampled a few cocktails at VINIQ’s launch event at Whiskey Blue at the W-Atlanta in Buckhead. The Payday cocktail (pictured above, recipe below) was my favorites but I equally enjoyed the Shimmery Liqueur straight.

  • 3 oz. ViniqTM
  • 1 oz. Lemonade (Half Fresh Lemon Juice/Half Simple Syrup)
  • .5 oz. Premium Orange Liqueur
  • 2 oz. Champagne
  • ICE
  • Mint Sprig

POUR all into a shaker, stir thoroughly, add ice and stir again, strain, garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy.

Check out a few flicks from the event that featured a special popsicle, the VINIQ Lemonade by King of Pops and one of VINIQ’s vixens.

      Pretty sure it’s confectioner’s glaze.
