Is Whitney Houston too big of a star to be featured on the small screen?

Lifetime may want to pump the brakes on their upcoming Whitney Houston biopic. According to TMZ, the Houston family are livid that the movie network is making a TV movie about the late legendary singer’s life, claiming that Houston is simply too big of a star for the small screen.

“The Houston estate is so upset they’re considering a lawsuit to block production. We’re told the family has already expressed displeasure to Lifetime and made it clear they weren’t on board with a TV movie,” sources close to the Houston family revealed to TMZ.

“The estate is planning its own movie for the big screen — a la the This is It Michael Jackson flick,” their source continued.

“Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie. If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening,” said Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston when asked about the Angela Basset directed production.
