For years on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Sheree Whitfield accused her ex-husband, former NFL star Bob Whitfield of being a stingy deadbeat dad, saying that he refused to pay child support for his two children with her. But according to a new report, Bob has been barely staying afloat financially for the past few years.
According to TheJasmineBrand.com, court documents show that Bob filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2011, claiming that he had assets totaling $1.07 million but had liabilities totaling $600,000.
Bob filed the bankruptcy with the intention of paying off his debt without having to sell his assets. However, months later Bob changed his case to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy because his debt was too high to pay off without selling off his assets.
Making matters worse was the fact that Bob claimed in his petition that he was only making $3,455 a month in disability checks.
The case is still pending, but it looks like Bob recently scored a legal win for himself because court documents from June 2 show that that the trustee handling Bob’s case is not going to sell his Georgia home, firearms, hobby equipment, automobiles and other vehicles.
Bob previously sold two of his other homes to pay off his massive debt, but despite the recent good news, it’s likely that Bob will have to sell off more of his assets to finally be rid of his debt. –nicholas robinson
