Pop singer Rita Ora spoke about her recent split from DJ and producer Calvin Harris, revealing how hard she took the breakup. When the news broke last month, Ora was reportedly shocked to learn that Harris shared the news of their split via his own Twitter posts.
“To address speculation — myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best,” Calvin tweeted at the time.
But in a recent interview with Glamour, Ora indicates that she and Harris ended on good terms, though she acknowledges that the split has been difficult for her.
“It’s hard to have a relationship in this business,” Ora confesses. “We both work really hard, we’re both all over the place. It was a wake-up call. I’m gonna tell you the truth … I’m not doing too great. But I’m doing better than I thought.”
Ora went on to say that there is no animosity between her and Harris.
“I adore him and he’s an amazing human being,” she says. “It was more about the situation, it was inconvenient, it was s—, it sucks.”
Ora has endured some fairly high-profile breakups during her relatively short career; including this most recent one with Harris and a not-so-amicable split from reality star Rob Kardashian in 2011. Despite rumors that she’s already started dating Tommy Hilfiger’s son, rapper Richard Hilfiger, the Roc Nation starlet claims that she’s more focused on getting herself together, continuing her career and staying single for a little while.
“I think I’m gonna have a minute to myself,” Ora says. “I’m 23. I’ve got the best friends in the world to be with. Especially now, at this point in my life. You live and you learn, don’t you?”
