The Rev. Al Sharpton was once known for his rotund figure, but over the years he’s slimmed down considerably in an effort to be healthy. But recently, fans and followers of the star have noticed his frame getting smaller than usual and now he’s revealed his new workout regimen to fans.
In a new profile for the New York Daily News, Sharpton reveals that he’s dropped 60 percent of his weight from a high of 305 pounds to just 129.6 pounds now. And Sharpton says he did it all without any diet pills, surgeries or workout trends.
“I could take all the cartoons in the tabloid newspapers, but I couldn’t take my daughter punching me in the belly and asking why I was so fat,” Sharpton recalled. “That was my inspiration to lose the weight. And probably the last time anyone hurt my feelings.”
That incident happened 15 years ago, when Sharpton’s daughter was just 12, but six years ago he got serious about losing weight and he cut out red meat. A year later, he cut out chicken, which he ate in fried form three times a day.
