Snoop Dogg, DJ Drama, Jermaine Dupri, Young Joc attend ESPN screening in Atlanta

Maria Taylor, Snoop Dogg, and John Stephenson , president and CEO of College Football Hall of Fame, attend 'Snoop & Son: A Dad's Dream' Atlanta Screening at College Football Hall of Fame on January 5, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Snoop Dogg was joined by über deejays and a super producer on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in Atlanta for what was touted as a rare and exclusive screening of the upcoming ESPN series “Snoop & Son: A Dad’s Dream.”

The invitation-only event was held at The College Football Hall of Fame in the city’s downtown district.

Producer Jermaine Dupri, DJs Drama and Don Cannon and rapper-reality star Young Joc were in attendance among others.

During a Q-and-A following the screening, the music icon shared, “When I first started coaching him, I was soft on him [Cordell]. When I began to see his potential and having been around so many athletes in my life and through coaching, I saw he had it in him. Not because he’s my son. There are certain things you have to do as a coach to pull it out of kids. I put some extreme pressure on [him] because I knew [he’d] overcome. He fell in love with football and it was no longer about me, it was about him.”

Snoop Dogg and director Rory Karpf

The Rory Karpf-directed series is a five-part documentary that provides an unprecedented look at entertainment icon Snoop Dogg’s journey with his football star son, Cordell Broadus, 17, whom ESPN vaunts is “a standout student and prep player, and one of the most sought after recruits in the nation with top schools from Notre Dame to USC vying for him to play for them.”

Snoop also shared with the audience that it’s OK to dream, fail and succeed.

The series will air four consecutive Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN (re-airs on ESPNU) with a fifth and final episode airing in mid-February.
