Why a teenager assaulted his mother, tied her up

A teenager in Rockdale County, Georgia, abused and held his mother captive in order to steal her guns. According to a report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Joseph Coddington, 17, broke into his own home by climbing through a window. Once inside, he opened the door for two of his friends.

Coddington attacked his mother, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across the room. He yelled at her and told her to open the safe so that he could retrieve her guns. His mother refused, and he tied her to a bed.
