Kid Rock disses Beyoncé

CBS/YouTube

After years of pop domination, Beyoncé has become nearly untouchable when it comes to petty industry beefs, and most artists in the world of hip-hop and R&B know that taking shots against Beyoncé can result in career suicide if her loyal BeyHive attacks. But rock star Kid Rock just did the seemingly unthinkable and blasted Beyoncé and her musical influence.

Rock spoke about Bey in a new article for Rolling Stone and he questioned why fans loved her so much when, in his eyes, she doesn’t have enough classic records to be an icon.

“Beyoncé, to me, doesn’t have a f—— ‘Purple Rain,’ but she’s the biggest thing on Earth. How can you be that big without at least one ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ or ‘Old Time Rock & Roll’? People are like, ‘Beyoncé’s hot. Got a nice f—— a–.’ I’m like, ‘Cool, I like skinny White chicks with big t–s.’ Doesn’t really f—— do much for me,” Rock explained.

Well, that’s a pretty bold statement for Rock to make, but considering the impact and longevity of Beyoncé hits like “Crazy In Love,” “Single Ladies, and “Drunk In Love,” to name a few, Bey has definitely earned her praise and her spot in the pantheon of music icons.

Oh he likes white girls now! Back when he was a rapper all you saw him with was black women. This is the problem with white artist appropriating hip hop/R&B culture. It is so easily set aside and dismissed when the money stops rolling in because it means nothing to them but a check.

    • Likewaterforchoc on February 27, 2015 at 4:45 pm

He has a biracial child with a black woman. He was dating her for a while and while they were together she got pregnant and once the baby was born he found out that she cheated because she gave birth to an all black baby. He stayed with her and they eventually went on to have a child together.
He must be saying this to stir the ish. Because he needs more people.

He made a point. While I am a black woman, this had nothing to do with race. What he’s saying is….she inexplicably sells sex!! And it doesn’t matter! He’s saying, she hasn’t sold any quality, positive, music!! I totally agree! I still vibe, and feel encouragement, and a sense of history, love, and life lessons when I listen to Aretha, temptations, smokey,,,and all those from my GRANDMOTHERS ERA!! THEY HAVE A TREMENDOUS IMPACT, ON GENERATIONS TO COME!! 20 YEARS FROM NOW, DIZZY, EMPTY HEADED BROADS, WILL NOT GAIN A LICK OF LONGEVITY, TRY TO VIBE TO “DRUNK IN LOVE”. THE BEYONCE IS A DISGRACE TO OUR PEOPLE & YOUTH!!!!! PERIOD!!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Folks have the right to their feelings, and shouldn’t have to feel intimidated by her. The evil threatening stronghold she possesses in entertainment, turns people off, amongst anything else. You have to portray a threatening image and personality to maintain fans…and sell music?? This says it all!!! 🙁 🙁 NEGATIVE!!!*****

    • Fed Up With Haters on February 27, 2015 at 4:50 pm

That’s called jealousy. And you’re called a hater. That girl is undeniably talented. ONLY a hater would say she’s undeserving and sells sex. That JUST started being her image. #signofthetimes It wasn’t always her image and I’m not even a fan. It’s called entertainment because it’s her JOB. And like most industries, you have to keep up with what people like in order to get a PAYCHECK. #haterswilldotheirjob

      • fruity_pebbles on February 27, 2015 at 5:29 pm

Wow, it’ amazing… whenever someone doesn’t like Beyonce they’re called a hater. Get over her she’s not a god. People can enjoy her music or not no one is hating just looking for something more. It’s like sitting down at a beautiful restaurant and the waiter brings you water for the main course.

It’s called a CHOICE we can love her music or not just stop with the silly hater accusations.

Cultural Appropriation! LMAO! So now we need PERMISSION (from who?) to incorporate anything into our lives that didn’t originate in our own cultures?

    • Medusa00 on March 1, 2015 at 1:33 pm

If Beyonce was so talented, she wouldn’t need her rabid Chihuahua Kanye to try to convince the world she deserves any award. How much is Jay-Z paying him?

She might have had some talent back when she was a Single Lady, but now she’s just Jay-Z’s Babylonian whore. He might have put a ring on it, but he’s still Big Pimpin’ his WIFE up in NYC. She’s nothing but a cash cow for him. He’s a thug and a criminal, and there is NOTHING glamorous about having those titles on your resume.

Kid Rock can say whatever he wants, and Culturally Appropriate whatever he wants, because God have all humans the right to speak freely. So he doesn’t see what all the fuss is about? Me, neither.

      • Carter. on July 16, 2015 at 12:48 am

  4. Noff Memphis on February 27, 2015 at 1:46 pm

Beyonce HAS had singles that have f#cked up the charts for months at a time and has the hundreds of millions in dollars and fans to show for it. Can’t say the same for Kid Rock tho…so yea..it is a bold statement even if race isn’t a factor. I can kinda see a statement like that coming from Prince or Michael when he was alive…but..Kid Rock??? This is ridiculous…you gotta be great in the industry to even know what greatness is.

    • honeybutter on February 27, 2015 at 2:35 pm

yeah our generation of brain washed children who want to make a million and have a wife that acts like a whore on stage and off .? her words in her song is hip hop like and volugarity mixed with fighting words , she always want to show she can sexually over power a man . and men see her as not empowering but escort girl call girl like … men is her strongest fans . .they like the way she push her puss.y on stage and dress half nude and expect our children to be in ahhhh of her .. i bet you the obamas changed they dam mind once they saw the performance she did with jayz last year .. lol ..
yes she sold out albums fast , that only cause the new itune alllows anyone to do that that want to. arel grandi and selina gomez , taylor swift does the same album sales ,…. 22 year olds are beyonce market too cause they like that sound in clubs , but iconic those sound are not micheal jackson made iconic people music ,, liek THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US … and HEAL THE WORLD … she said micheal jackson was her idol .. well damit she got a lot of catching up to do .. to be anything close to his fame and style …………. i heard this said about her before over and over , she is still singing these tunes cause she really cant sing , she has a accent from texas and it is heard in her music … not flattering and if she could sing like michellle chrisette , or ledisi , ,she would be mega .good …
but she got stage present and when her ass get a few years older our point will be valid

    • CB the kid on February 27, 2015 at 2:44 pm

          • Medusa00 on March 1, 2015 at 1:38 pm

If she was so great, she wouldn’t need to send Kanye in to try and level the playing field.

          • Likewaterforchoc on March 2, 2015 at 8:58 am

No, she doesn’t really do much for me like she does for you and others. You do confirm my statements about you over and over again, though. A lot of people fail to realize that the opposite of love is not hate, it is INDIFFERENCE. I don’t love or hate Beyoncé, I’m just indifferent towards her. I don’t feel the need to rant in support of or against someone who has never done anything for me personally or impacted me on a deep level. I don’t have the amount of passion about her as you do and the only one butthurt is you as you continue to make a complete fool of yourself on this site everyday. Carry on….

What, is Beyonce untouchable or something>? I have no idea why she is as big as she is. No song in her catalog remotely stands as a break out song. She mediocre at best. Compare Destiny’s Child to TLC? No comparison – TLC all day. Aaliyah was still around would be stomping all over Bey. Heard she had a deal of a certain type propelling her into the spotlight ahem ahem lol. Oh well, Kid Rock though, he went from underground rapper to hybrid rock rapper to country dude. Guess he’s like where’s my love lol.

    • honeybutter on February 27, 2015 at 2:38 pm

believe it or not a lot of people dont see her talent , but can remember her roling on the floor trying to be a sex symbol and nasty dancer .. she has not got the talent that people think , ,the younger kids are blowing her up they are the ones on itunebuying her junk …. junk period have you seen her do a christian album<????why? cause this would prove she can not sing.. only mary mary and yolanda adams can do that ….. they would make her sick .. she never colaborate either with no one cause scared they may out singe her , and the comparison she couldnt handle

      • kriss on February 28, 2015 at 8:29 pm

  6. honeybutter on February 27, 2015 at 2:27 pm

i agree with rock , im a black female with children , and ithink she is a bad influence on my kids my 6 year old was singing drunkin love ? and dancing seductive ? so first off she dont qualify as a role model , black history icon , no cause most black people put her on the level with kim kardashian , taking selfies , staging acts for attention , like the recent boob out deal, and acting controlled by her man , such as letting him cause a ax between her and her father , who actually made her a star !! so she aint no ones favorite the young 15 to 19 year olds are yelling behive ,…. THEY LIKE HER VIDEOS WHY? they are club tunes …. like looney tunes … sort of

nobody over 40 accept thirsty black men is wanting to hear her clubby tunes all the time .. and she has no songs on the status of purple rain , or sweet home alabama , , those are iconic songs ……… i dont care for kid rock as a person but he is completely right bout her ..
he is established SO LET THE BEHIVE COME ON YOU WANT GET NO WHERE WITH HIM …. beyonce is a computorized itunic , robot controlled by money hungry husband who realizing he is ageing and cant be on the status of rapper he use to be when he was nobody he only got his acclaim after biggie smalls the other top new york rapper died ………being from new york help cause new york people support you more than if you were from kansas or utah trying to make it ……

alcia keys got her push from new yorkers they love lsuccess there ..

beyonce need to let the younger girls get some light she took that grammy spot from ledisi just desperate and doggish and how christian could she look after drunkin love

    • Likewaterforchoc on February 27, 2015 at 4:51 pm

You’ve been listening to the white folks too long buying into the idea of celebrities as role models for your children. Celebrities has never put a meal on their table, clothes on their backs or a roof over their heads. You never really know those people. This is one of the most valuable lesson my mother ever taught me. She lived her entire life as an example to us and it mattered.

      • disqus_83ZEiOohu5 on February 27, 2015 at 6:17 pm

I agree, we should not depend on celebrities to be our children role models. Most of us are the ones who are making these people rich. We download their music, attend their concerts, watch the reality shows, and purchase their products. Then we get upset because they are living it up. Stop the support.

        • Likewaterforchoc on February 28, 2015 at 1:52 pm

I am not upset they are living it up and don’t hate on anyone’s success, but parents should take responsibility and give their children perspective when looking up to celebrities and discourage celebrity worship. My mother would always say “You don’t know these people and you don’t know what they may have done to get to where they are.” And this is the truth. If your children need someone to look up to instead of you, then you should evaluate yourself as a parent. I mean seriously, if my daughter came to me and told me that a Kardashian or Amber Rose was her role model, I would definitely view myself as a failure as a mother.

  7. CB the kid on February 27, 2015 at 2:52 pm

It’s all about the generation and what the generation likes these days. If you are a product of your environment then most of us who grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s can see both sides of what Rock is saying. However because the media is a controlled entity that entity has the say over what dominates the air waves and you have to admit what had controlled the air waves have changed over time. What’s hot today wasn’t hit when I was growing up. Even today there is good conscious music out there but you’ll never hear it unless you stumble across it or someone recommends it. Sex is the number one means of sale these days and Beyonce is capitalizing can’t hate a hustler for supplying the demand. IJS!!!

  8. fruity_pebbles on February 27, 2015 at 5:20 pm

I agree with him… she doesn’t have a Purple Rain or sweet Home Alabama. She’s pretty and knows how to seduce her audience with bubble gum like tunes. I could think of a few women that Bey can’t touch vocally. She’s a good entertainer get over it. The man is entitled to his opinion.

  9. REALSOUL4 on February 27, 2015 at 5:35 pm

I’m black and I agree with him. Yes, she is a performer. A very good one that’s it.

  11. sue on February 27, 2015 at 6:33 pm

He is right, she is a pop star. I know that she has been on top for a while, but her songs are not classic and her lyrics are getting somewhat on the sleazy side. And everybody wants to always yell jealously, it is not that she does not reinvent her self, everything about her is always the same. I fond her boring, but if she can still get fans to buy her music more power to her.

  12. Lee on February 27, 2015 at 8:11 pm

Does Kid Cultural Appropriation have blacks under a spell or something? I mean the guy dissed black women, used Hip Hop until it didn’t suit him anymore, then went all card carrying redneck. And where does he get off saying Beyonce doesn’t have any hits. Even if you don’t like her music and you’re not a fan, which I am not, you’re not that stupid to say she hasn’t had any big hits. And why does he interject with race? Who cares about the white girls with big boobs anyway? Where did that come from? And some of you have decided you hate Beyonce too much to criticize Kid Rock.

  13. Dori on February 28, 2015 at 4:56 am

She sells what the public wants and that’s been the history of the music biz since the beginning of time. And no I don’t own any Beyonce albums but I DO understand the music business and the changing times. I bet you he wouldn’t dare say a thing about Elvis’s gyrating and censored hip movements from back in the 50’s and 60’s and he damn well was selling sex and banned too but it’s a matter of choice with him too whether or not he was the greatest singer around. He got popular due to “SHOCK VALUE” just like BEY and PARENTS at the time hated him too! Yes I do think she takes things too far sometimes, YES I DO think she has talent, and YES I do think he is hating. But business is business and if she was boring and singing Christian music we wouldn’t be on this thread talking about her right now.
