The Dreamers’ parents were in attendance and Harvey spoke to them candidly about not focusing so much on their children’s grades and living their dreams through their children but to help them keep their dreams alive. “By asking them monthly about their dreams, it will inspire them to get the right grades,” Harvey said.

Jonathan Sprinkles conducted an interactive session with the Dreamers about meeting people, networking and the importance of reading books. He reminded them that though they might not get a chance to personally meet people they admire, they could get acquainted with them through the books they’ve written. He recommend two books: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey.

The “Deep Dives” were separated into classes where teachers or a celebrity conducted the class. The Dreamers were able to ask questions and participate in specific activities, for example the journalism class created the Dreamers Academy newsletter, which will be printed for the students on Sunday, graduation day.

Bernard, Shirley and Khalil Kinsey answered media questions at The Kinsey Collection viewing at American Adventure at Epcot. They stressed that we need to know our history not just “his story” and are humbled that their art work has been featured at Disney for two years and will be there for three more.
