It’s no secret that Sherri Shepherd has been having one rough year. Thankfully, due to the support of a few close friends, she’s been able to keep it together. Earlier this week, the former “The View” co-host, was summoned to court as officials are trying to determine whether Shepherd, 47, should be declared the mother of a baby boy born to a surrogate last August.

Although Shepherd hasn’t spoken publicly about the matter, she did write several posts on Twitter overnight in which she thanked friends — including Cynthia Occelli and Todd Chrisley — for helping her through the “craziness.”

So blessed that my dearest friend @CynthiaOccelli came and loved on me… talked me through my craziness. Hugged her & didn’t want to let go

I don’t know what I would do w/o my sister-friends… @CynthiaOccelli just left… she checked me… encouraged me… held my hand #love

I love you @toddchrisley … you always seem to know when I need your encouraging words. You still got a room ready for me in that house?

Shepherd and her ex-husband, Lamar Sally, have been battling over financial responsibility for Lamar Sally Jr., who was born to surrogate Jessica Bartholomew and is now 7 months old. Although Bartholomew is listed as the mother on the birth certificate, Sally is demanding Shepherd be named the mother.

In the past, Sally has claimed that Shepherd wants nothing to do with the newborn, even though, prior to their split, they agreed to pursue surrogacy together using his sperm and a donor egg. It’ll be up to a judge to decide whether or not Shepherd, the woman who carried the fetus, or the anonymous egg donor is the legal mother.
