Designer Randy Gary answered the fashion call after a visit with his nursing school counselor. “After seeing my unofficial transcript and the number of science classes I had remaining, I knew it was time to put plan B into action,” shares the Bauder College senior who will earn a degree in fashion design this summer. “Fashion has always been a part of my life and something that has always been intriguing to me. I’ve been sewing for about 3 1/2 to 4 years.”

On Sunday, March 29, 2015, Gary will be showcasing the Randy Gary Collection at the Fashion Illusion 2015 Celebrity Fashion Show, benefiting the Clayton County Women in Business Mentoring Program, which will be held at the Morrow Event Center located in Morrow, Georgia.

As a featured designer alongside Vernon Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio, the Atlanta-based talent will be showing two collections: The Black Collection and The Southern Elegance Collection. “Attendees can expect to be impressed with my designs. They can expect to see dramatic statement pieces, with over the top elements … trains, ruffles, sparkle, just elegance,” he vaunts.

“The Black collection was inspired by my favorite color, black. I believe black is a classic color and can either be dressed up or down. When wearing all-black, it has a presence and looks clean and simple, a less is more kind of thing. You just can never go wrong wearing all-black. The Bridal collection was inspired by the South. I had a vision of a Southern belle on her wedding day. She’s classic and loves simplicity, yet desires to make a statement. From the colors to the choice of fabric, her wedding will definitely make that statement, effortlessly.”
